St. Dorothy of Cappadocia is noted for her beauty and piety. She is the patron saint of love, marriage and flowers. At the time of her martyrdom, an agnostic, Theopolis, challenged her to send flowers and fruit down from heaven. During the winter when fruits and flowers were not in season, she sent a messenger to him with red roses and apples wrapped in linen. Theopolis became a Convert to Christianity.
