Melchior is the name given in later legend to one of the Magi appearing in the Gospel of Matthew. This beautifully crafted, life-size statue is one of the three kings accompanying the 50" Nativity set created by the Italian Fontanini workshop. Saint Melchior gave the gift of gold.
